Ramban, June 05: As part of the ongoing preparations for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today conducted an extensive inspection of the Langar site at Lamber, Banihal, and other key locations along the Yatra route to review the arrangements being put in place by various departments for the convenience and safety of pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan, SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, ACD Sheraz Ahmed, officers of the District Administration, CRPF, Army and other allied departments.
During the visit, the officers reviewed the availability and preparedness of essential services, including sanitation, drinking water supply, power infrastructure, healthcare facilities, traffic regulation, public conveniences and security arrangements.
The inspection focused on ensuring seamless coordination among all stakeholder departments for the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination and complete all assigned tasks well before the commencement of the Yatra to provide a safe, secure and comfortable experience to pilgrims.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner directed the ACD to install welcome hoardings and signages along NH-44 and undertake beautification of the central chowk near the Nashri Tunnel.
The CEO, Municipal Committee Batote, was instructed to ensure proper functioning of washrooms and other public facilities in the Nashri area.
The Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, was directed to install water coolers at identified locations for the convenience of pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner, along with the SSP Ramban and officers of security agencies, also reviewed security-related arrangements and emphasized maintaining a robust security grid to ensure the safety and smooth movement of pilgrims throughout their transit in the district.
