DC Kulgam reviews proposed land use patterns, strengthening of public infrastructure for GIS Master Plan

KULGAM, MAY 02: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today chaired a meeting to review and discuss the GIS-based Master Plan for Kulgam town under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), with a focus on sustainable and planned urban development.

During the meeting, a detailed deliberations were held on key components of the Master Plan, with special emphasis on solid and liquid waste management systems to ensure efficient sanitation and environmental sustainability across the town.

A comprehensive transport plan was also discussed, aimed at improving road connectivity, easing traffic congestion, and promoting safe and efficient mobility.

The economic development framework also formed a major area of focus, with discussions centered on identifying growth sectors and enhancing livelihood opportunities.

The meeting further reviewed proposed land use patterns, strengthening of public infrastructure, and strategies for optimal utilization of state land. Future planning aspects were also deliberated upon to ensure balanced urban expansion in line with projected population growth.

Special attention was given to the development and preservation of green zones to maintain ecological balance, alongside planned industrial activities to boost local economic growth.

The GIS-based Master Plan is expected to provide a structured roadmap for the sustainable and integrated development of Kulgam town, aligning with the broader objectives of the AMRUT Mission.

The DC emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among departments to ensure effective plan and implementation to transform Kulgam into a well-planned, resilient, and citizen-friendly urban center.
