Anantnag, Apr 17: The Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag has disengaged a Special Police Officer from service after he was found involved in a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The SPO was linked to FIR No. 57/2023 registered at Police Station Devsar under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
It said the department took serious note of his involvement in the case and initiated appropriate disciplinary action, which led to his disengagement from service.
The action forms part of a broader effort by the police to enforce accountability and maintain discipline within the force.
Anantnag Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of misconduct or involvement in unlawful activities by its personnel.
