All J&K Patwar Association calls off its 03-day token pen-down strike

Jammu, Apr 16: The All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association (AJKPA) has called off its three-day token pen-down strike and directed its members to resume duties from April 17, 2026, following talks with the Revenue Department.

Members of AJKPA had observed a strike on April 13, 15 and 16 as part of its protest over pending demands.

According to officials, a meeting was held on April 16 at 12:30 pm between the Administrative Secretary, Revenue Department, and representatives of the AJKPA, including its apex body and provincial leadership from both Jammu and Kashmir regions.

The discussions covered all key issues raised by the association, and minutes of the meeting will be issued separately. The strike, which involved participation from members across all districts, was described by the association as disciplined and widely supported.

In its decision, the AJKPA has instructed all district presidents to ensure the immediate resumption of duties by basic members, effectively ending the ongoing agitation.

However, the association warned that if the government fails to fulfil what it described as “already accepted genuine demands” within 45 days, it would be compelled to launch an indefinite strike.
