JAMMU, Apr 16: A significant and productive meeting was held between Bharat Sharma, President of the Karate India Organisation, and Ambedkar Gupta, President of the Amateur Karate Association of Jammu & Kashmir, at the KIO Office in New Delhi.
The meeting focused on formulating a comprehensive strategy for the development and promotion of Karate in Jammu & Kashmir. Detailed discussions were held regarding various initiatives undertaken by the Amateur Karate Association of Jammu & Kashmir during the past year, highlighting efforts made at the grassroots level to nurture talent and strengthen the sport in the region.
During the interaction, Mr. Bharat Sharma assured his full support to the Karate fraternity of Jammu & Kashmir and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts for sustainable growth. He also confirmed his official visit to Jammu & Kashmir in the month of May 2026 to further assess and promote Karate activities in the region.
Key issues such as climatic conditions, geographical challenges, infrastructure development, and technical aspects were thoroughly discussed. The meeting also explored the feasibility of organizing high-level competitions, training camps, and other developmental programs in Jammu & Kashmir.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Ambedkar Gupta conveyed his sincere thanks to the KIO President for his valuable time, guidance, and for the constructive decisions taken during the meeting. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Association towards the growth and excellence of Karate in the Union Territory.
