JAMMU, April 14:A vibrant and spiritually uplifting celebration marking the twin occasions of Baisakhi and the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was organised under the leadership of former minister and senior BJP leader Ch Sukhnandan Choudhary, drawing a large gathering of locals and prominent personalities.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from people across different walks of life, reflecting the unity and cultural richness associated with the festival of Baisakhi. The venue resonated with festive fervour as attendees came together to celebrate the harvest festival, which holds immense religious, cultural, and social significance.

Addressing the gathering, Ch Sukhnandan Choudhary elaborated on the relevance of Baisakhi as a symbol of prosperity, gratitude, and new beginnings. He emphasized that the festival not only marks the harvest season but also embodies the spirit of togetherness, harmony, and collective progress.

On the occasion, he also paid rich tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, recalling his immense contributions towards shaping modern India. Highlighting Ambedkar’s role as the architect of the Indian Constitution, Choudhary underscored his relentless efforts in promoting social justice, equality, and the empowerment of marginalized sections of society. He urged people to follow the ideals and principles laid down by Dr. Ambedkar in building an inclusive and progressive nation.

Several prominent dignitaries were present on the occasion, including BJP State Executive Member Vikas Choudhary, former DDC Marh Balbir Lal, District Spokesperson BJP Deepak Pandey, Ex-Sarpanchs Daljeet Singh, Parshotam Sharma, Om Parkash Verma, Sham Lal Sharma, Tarsem Sharma, and Avinash Singh. Among others present were Prof. Shiv Kumar, Prof. Dheeraj Kumar, Harbans Lal, Naresh Digra, Pawan Singh, Rekha Rani, Jyoti Devi, Kirna Devi, Anita Langeh, Kuldeep Singh, Capt. Hari Singh, and Capt. Puran Singh.

The programme concluded on a celebratory note with the distribution of sweets among the attendees, symbolising joy, unity, and shared happiness on the auspicious occasion.
