The legislation has been published in the Gazette and introduces a uniform framework for recruitment and service conditions across Central Armed Police Forces, including CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP and SSB.

The law also empowers the Central Government to frame rules on recruitment and service conditions, overriding conflicting provisions, judgments or previous administrative orders.
