Jammu, April 09: The much-talked-about high-security prison in Jammu Kashmir is now ready, with the Home Department officially notifying it as a prison.
“In pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Prisons Act, 1894, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir hereby declares the structures erected on the land measuring 148 kanals, bearing Khasra No. 427 min and 486 min at village Dambra, Tehsil Mahanpur, District Kathua, as a prison, and also designates the said prison as ‘High Security Prison, Mahanpur,’” reads the notification issued by Principal Secretary Home.
