CHANDIGARH, April 05: The controversial self-styled “prophet” Bajinder Singh sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court in Punjab’s Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district in a rape and sexual harassment case from 2018.
Bajinder Singh, a self-proclaimed pastor, runs the Glory and Wisdom Church in Tajpur (Jalandhar) and Majri (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar) in Punjab, as a part of his ministries, and claims to cure ailments and other problems by offering “miracle services” that have often come under criticism.
The additional session court, Mohali, found Bajinder Singh guilty of repeated rape in the case, under section 376(2)(n) [repeated rape on the same woman] of the Indian Penal Code, sentencing him to serve imprisonment for the “remainder part of his life.”
