Pressure Horn ban enforced in Jammu Kashmir; Rs 10,000 fine & Jail Term for Violators

Jammu, April 04: The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police has reiterated a complete ban on the use of pressure horns across the Union Territory, warning that strict legal action will be taken against violators.

The directive follows the ruling of the Supreme Court of India in the case Abhay Singh vs State of Uttar Pradesh and Others, which prohibits all types of pressure horns.  Authorities stated that using such horns constitutes an offence under Section 190(2) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, carrying penalties of up to Rs 10,000 in fines and imprisonment for up to six months.
