Ramban, April 05: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today personally monitored the road clearance operations launched by PWD, PMGSY, GRIF and NHAI to restore connectivity on various roads affected by landslides triggered by heavy rainfall across the district.
He also inspected several ongoing developmental works in the area. During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Ranjit Singh, besides engineers and officials from PMGSY and PWD (R&B).
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the Nashri–Sana road being executed under PMGSY and directed the concerned engineers to ensure immediate clearance of debris and maintain the road in good condition for smooth movement of traffic.
While inspecting other roads in the area, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Executive Engineer to undertake bituminous topping (BT) on the Sansar–Sana road and ensure its proper maintenance for the convenience of commuters.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the site of the ongoing Golf Course project at Sansar and directed the concerned Executive Engineer to expedite the pace of work to ensure its timely completion.
He emphasized the need to maintain quality standards and ensure timely execution of all developmental works to improve road connectivity and strengthen the tourism potential of the region.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the status of essential services in the area, including electricity, drinking water supply and road connectivity, and directed the concerned departments to remain alert and ensure prompt restoration of services wherever required.
Urging people to remain cautious in view of the prevailing weather conditions, the Deputy Commissioner advised the public to follow weather advisories issued by the District Administration and other concerned authorities and avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas.
