Jammu, March 28: Govt Medical College Jammu releases emergency work data for the months of December 2025 January 2026. The key takeaways details with CTN read as under:
1. GMC Jammu emergency is still one of the main emergency facilies of jammu region.
2. Daily patient inflow is about 590 out of which around 160 patient get admitted.
3. The diagnostic work on daily basis is quite remarkable with around more than 400 radiological tests being undertaken including X rays, ultrasounds and CT scans.
4. The Lab tests on daily basis in emergency wing exceed a mind boggling 6000 with biochemistry taking a lead with more than 4500 tests followed by pathology and microbiology.
5. Daily emergency surgeries exceed 70 with orthopedic department conducting around 60 surgeries on daily basis.
6. The main referrals are in the department of medicine followed by surgery and Ortho.
7. The main reason for attending emergency are fall injuries, chest pain, abdomen pain, breathing problems, hypertension, stroke, heart attacks, vomiting and seizures.
8. The referrals are seen equal in all shifts morning, afternoon and nights with male and female patient ratio of 60 - 40.
9. GMC has been getting referrals from nearly all medical centers of the region including GMCs, district hospitals and other medical centers.
10. The main reasons for referral are; for further management, surgical, medical management, specializd management like neurology, cardiology etc.
