Kishtwar, 28-03-2026 Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKA), who is also the Chairman of the District Level Committee (DLC) for the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP), the Department of Agriculture, Kishtwar, convened a DLC meeting today at the Meeting Hall of the New DC Office Complex, Kishtwar.
The meeting focused on Youth Club Dool, Youth Club Galhar, and Youth Club Dadpeth under JKCIP.
The meeting was held under the component “Support to Vulnerable Communities”, with emphasis on the project “Youth Club” and the activity “Application for Participation in JKCIP Environmental and Community-Based Activities.”
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held regarding the involvement of youth clubs in environmental conservation, community development, and sustainable livelihood initiatives aimed at strengthening resilience and promoting improved agricultural and allied sector practices across the district.
Officers from the Agriculture Department, along with other concerned line departments and stakeholders, participated in the meeting and shared their inputs for effective implementation of the programme. Emphasis was laid on encouraging youth participation, spreading awareness on sustainable practices, and promoting grassroots-level engagement in community development activities.
The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among departments and the active participation of Youth Clubs to ensure the success of JKCIP initiatives in Kishtwar.
The meeting concluded with minor modifications to the Youth Club DPRs, including conducting two anti-drug campaigns per month, inclusion of the Forest Department in plantation drives, implementation of 2.5% administrative charges, and strengthening of awareness and cleanliness drives.
