RAMBAN, MARCH 27: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting in his office chamber to review the progress of door-to-door National Manuscript Survey under the Gyan Bharatam initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak; Assistant Commissioner Development Sheraz Ahmed; Tehsildar Headquarters Reejuta Mahajan; besides Coordinator, Cluster Centre Gyan Bharatam J&K, Department of Persian, University of Kashmir Prof. Dr. Jahangir Iqbal Tantray, BDOs and Surveyors participated through virtual mode.
The DC highlighted the importance of maintaining close coordination among the stakeholder departments for the effective implementation of the initiative. He directed the concerned officers to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks with utmost accuracy and accountability.
He also briefed officers about the role and responsibilities of their respective departments and the staff deployed for the survey.
Later, Prof. Dr. Jahangir Iqbal Tantray, Coordinator, Cluster Centre Gyan Bharatam J&K, Department of Persian, University of Kashmir, conducted an online session.
He sensitized participants on the technical aspects of the door-to-door survey, operationalization of the Gyan Bharatam web portal and other key components of the National Manuscript Survey.
He also encouraged all the participants for dedicated efforts to preserve and document the rich manuscript heritage of the region.
