Udaipur, March 22: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested the Mandwa Station House Officer and a constable in Udaipur for taking a bribe of ₹8 lakh in exchange for not making 4 people accused in an NDPS Act case.
It added that SHO was also threatening to implicate family members
According to information, a few days ago, Mandwa police had carried out an operation against drug trafficking, in which four accused were arrested under the NDPS Act.
Later, the investigation of the case was handed over to the Bekaria SHO but despite this, Mandwa SHO Nirmal Kumar was allegedly threatening to implicate the relatives of the accused in the case as well but he demanded ₹5 lakh each from 4 people as bribe.
Under the supervision of ACB DIG Rameshwar Singh, Udaipur ACB Station Officer Sonu Shekhawat caught both of them red-handed while taking the bribe.
