DC Reasi instructs to install CCTV cameras at vulnerable hotspots to safeguard assets created under JJM

REASI, MARCH 12: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, today chaired a meeting of District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) to review the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission schemes in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the assessment of Jal Ankalan carried out under the Har Ghar Jal initiative in rural areas. He directed the Stakeholder department to verify the discrepancies identified in the Jal Ankalan reports and ensure that if such issues exist on the ground, the same are rectified and removed at the earliest.

While reviewing the progress of rural water supply schemes, the Deputy Commissioner directed to constitute a committee to ensure source sustainability of piped drinking water supply schemes to maintain supply in the long run.

Emphasising the protection of water supply infrastructure, he instructed the department to install CCTV cameras at vulnerable hotspots to safeguard the assets created under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed the officials to verify household data and identify habitations that are not yet covered under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, SE, Hydraulic Circle, Udhampur/Reasi, CPO, ACD and other district officers.
