Jammu, Mar 11: Hours after the attack on National Conference President and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmad Rana expressed relief that the veteran leader was safe & questioned the law and order situation in the region?
Rana condemned the incident and termed it "very unfortunate & it is by the grace of God that the children were saved. The security personnel and commandos present there acted swiftly and ensured the safety of everyone.
Rana mentioned that he had attended the same private gathering but left just 15-20 minutes prior to the incident. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary was with Dr. Abdullah at the time. Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani was also there, along with several other MLAs and party workers.
Expressing grave concern over the security of political figures in the Union Territory, Rana posed a significant question that if Dr. Farooq Abdullah, a towering national leader, is not safe in this environment, then who else can be?
He urged the public to pray for peace and stability in the region.
