SHIMLA, Mar 10: Governor (designate) Kavinder Gupta and his wife Bindu Gupta were accorded a warm and enthusiastic reception on their arrival in Shimla this evening.
Gupta is scheduled to take oath as the 30th Governor of Himachal Pradesh on Today at 11:45 a.m.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Sunil Sharma, MLAs, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari, Vice-Chancellors of universities, senior civil and police officers of the State Government and other prominent citizens welcomed the Governor (designate) at Lok Bhavan.
The Chief Minister honoured the Governor (designate) and his wife Bindu Gupta by presenting a Himachali cap, shawl and a memento on the occasion.
Interacting with media persons on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that he would work for the welfare and progress of Himachal Pradesh by taking all sections of society along.
He added that we will move forward collectively for the betterment of Himachal Pradesh
