DC Ramban Reviews Progress under Mission YUVA; Sets Deadline for Target of 1065 Disbursements

 Ramban, March 5: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today chaired a meeting to review the progress achieved under Mission YUVA with stakeholders and concerned officers at the District Headquarters.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, who is also the Nodal Officer for Mission YUVA, ACR Showkat Hayat Mattoo, General Manager DIC Ravindra Anand, Assistant Director Employment Amit Kumar, Cluster Head JK Bank, Principal GDC Ramban, and other concerned officers attended the meeting, while SDMs and other outstation officers joined the meeting virtually.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner set a deadline to achieve target for disbursement of 1065 cases under the Mission and directed all stakeholders to work in coordination to accomplish the goal within the stipulated time frame.

While reviewing the progress, it was informed that 2372 cases have been approved, out of which 2272 cases have been forwarded to banks, 730 cases have been sanctioned, and 525 cases have been disbursed so far.

It was further informed that around 100 additional cases were approved by the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) during the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner issued several directions to expedite implementation of the scheme.

He directed SDMs and the ACR to hold weekly Block Handholding and Development (BHD) meetings and undertake field visits to units established under Mission YUVA to assess their functioning and progress.

The Cluster Head of Banks was directed to expedite the sanction and disbursement of more cases to ensure timely support to aspiring entrepreneurs. The Nodal Officers were instructed to conduct awareness sessions among students to encourage youth participation in self-employment initiatives.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Program Manager JKRLM to organize “Udyam Jagriti” programmes for SHG women to promote entrepreneurship among rural women. Internal Trainers were asked to ensure that more candidates are trained so that the subsidy component under the scheme can be released promptly.

Further, the Assistant Director Employment was instructed to assess the ground situation of newly established units and submit a report on their operational status.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of Mission YUVA in promoting self-employment and urged all departments and financial institutions to work with dedication to ensure maximum benefit to the youth of the district.
