Kathua, Feb 20: SSP Kathua, Ms. Mohita Sharma -IPS held a comprehensive security review and crime meeting at Conference Hall District Police Lines (DPL) Kathua.
The meeting was attended by SP Ops. Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS , SP Ops. Upper Kathua Sh. Aumir Iqbal, all SDPO's/ SHOs, and In-charge Police Posts across the district.
The Security review meeting focused on infiltration at the border, security of vital installations, tourist places,National Highway (NHW),Police Stations/ PP's/Nakas, regulation of drone flying, checking of vehicles with registration numbers from other states and vehicle orginating from the Border.
She further stressed upon the monitoring of Surrendered/Released Militants,OGW's and Nok's of JKNOP's and update their lists accordingly.
During the crime meeting, the SSP Kathua reviewed the overall situation and emphasised was given on quality investigation on UAPA and NDPS cases. In UAPA cases, it was directed to intitiate the process of Attachment of Immovable and Movable property of accused.
In NDPS Cases, it was directed to investigate the forward & backward linkage, attachment of property of accused and start proceedings of PIT NDPS to dismantle entire networks of narcotics.
In Bovine Smuggling cases, it was directed to involve driver as well as Owner of vehicle and Cancellation of Driving license.
During the meeting, special focus was given to the progress of cases under old and new criminal laws, especially ensuring their timely disposal within the prescribed period of 60 and 90 days.
The meeting concluded with clear directions to officers for ensuring better service delivery, accountability, and security across the district.
