ED attaches properties worth Rs 10,021.46 Crore in PACL Money Laundering Case

Chandigarh, Feb 18: The Enforcement Directorate said it has issued its biggest-ever single attachment order clamping down on 247 immovable assets worth more than 10 thousand crore rupees as part of its money laundering investigation against Chandigarh-based PACL (Pearls Group).

The group is accused of orchestrating a 48 thousand crore rupee Ponzi scheme. The properties that have been attached provisionally under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act are located in SAS Nagar of Mohali, Rupnagar and Zirakpur in Punjab.

The attached 247 properties have been identified as having been acquired from investor funds, constituting proceeds of crime. They have been valued at 10 thousand crore rupees.
