NSS, GCW, Parade successfully organized a one day workshop on Entrepreneurship Development Program

Jammu, Feb 12: NSS, Government College for Women (GCW), Parade successfully organized a One dayworkshop on Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) on 12 th February at its auditorium in collaboration with CYDA.

The program aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, leadership qualities, and career awareness among affected families J&K Floods and NSS volunteers.

The event was graced by Shri S.P. Verma, Padma Shri Awardee, a prominent social activist from J&K and President of the Gandhi Global family, as the Chief Guest.

In the inaugural session of the workshop, a welcome bouquet was presented to the distinguished dignitaries by Dr. Ritu Magotra, Vice Principal, GCW Parade, as a gesture of respect and appreciation.

The welcome address was presented by Dr Atiya Syed, NSS PO. In his address, Shri S.P. Verma emphasized the importance of dedication, innovation, and ethical leadership in achieving success, inspiring students to pursue excellence with commitment and integrity.

The Special Guest, Mr. Mathew Mattam, Founder, CYDA, delivered an impactful keynote session focusing on youth empowerment, entrepreneurship opportunities, and community leadership.

He encouraged students to become job creators rather than job seekers and highlighted the significance of skill development in nation-building.

Among the distinguished dignitaries present were Mr. Harish Raina, a visionary education leader associated with India’s EdTech revolution through Educomp; Er. Shubham Kotwal, President of the All India Digital and Media Association and Mr. Rahul Kumar Attri, Project Executive, CYDA J&K.

During the Entrepreneurship Development Program, Mr. Mathew Mattam the resource person for the workshop emphasised on nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among the participants and encouraging them to become innovators and leaders.

He stressed the need for confidence, creativity, problem-solving ability, and calculated risk-taking.

The significance of skill development, digital literacy, communication skills, and leadership qualities was discussed as essential components for entrepreneurial success.

Participants were motivated to identify local challenges and transform innovative ideas into sustainable business opportunities. The role of technology, digital platforms, and media outreach in expanding business ventures was also underscored.

Special attention was given to agriculture-based entrepreneurship and local development initiatives as viable opportunities for youth. Overall, the workshop focused on empowering the youth with practical knowledge, resilience, and ethical leadership to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation’s economic growth.

A special lecture was also delivered by Mr. Munshi Ram on District Agriculture Developments, highlighting local initiatives and emerging opportunities for youth in the agricultural sector.

Special guest Ms Ansuya Jamwal, ADC, Jammu, also interacted with the audience in the last session and applauded the efforts made by CYDA in empowering the flood affected families.

The workshop concluded with distribution of certificates to the participants.

The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks and a group photograph. The faculty members, organizing committee, students, and representatives from the press and media actively participated, making the event a grand success.

The college administration expressed sincere gratitude to all distinguished guests, the CYDA team, press and media representatives, and participants for their valuable presence and contribution toward the success of the program.
