Patna, Feb 09: The VIB team arrested Akhilesh Sah, a Revenue Employee at the circle office in Rajgir, Nalanda district. He was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs. 45,000 near Leduwa bridge on Chhabilapur Road.
The VIB acted on the complaint filed by one Rajiv Kumar that the revenue employee was demanding a bribe for processing a land clearance case.
Following verification of the complaint and confirmation of evidence showing the demand, a case was registered in this regard. An investigation team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, laid a trap and apprehended the accused while he was receiving the bribe money.
After questioning, Akhilesh will be produced before the special vigilance court in Patna. Further investigation is underway into the case.
