Patna, Feb 09: The Vigilance Investigation Bureau arrested block development officer, while accepting a bribe of Rs50,000 in Gaya on Monday.
The arrest was made after pramukh of the block filed a complaint alleging that the BDO demanded Rs1 lakh to pass a school boundary wall construction plan under the 15th Finance Commission scheme.
The vigilance team laid a trap and apprehended the BDO as he received the first instalment of the bribe amount, Rs. 50,000, from the pramukh.
The BDO was taken into custody and brought to Patna for further investigation.
