Jammu, Feb 10: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the council of ministers had no role in approving the ropeway project for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
He added that after checking records, he found that his cabinet had no role in approving the project.
The CM said that both the House and the people were being misled. In an emotional moment, the member had yesterday threatened to resign,” Omar said.
He said that the MLA from the Mata Vaishno Devi segment Baldev Raj Sharma had claimed in the House on Monday that the cabinet had approved the project and that he would resign if his claims proved incorrect.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah categorically stated that the ropeway project for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine was approved by the Lieutenant Governor in 2024, and not by the state cabinet or the Administrative Council.
