IAS/IPS/IFS etc officers cannot reappear again for UPSC Exam unless they resign

IAS/IPS/IFS etc officers cannot reappear again for UPSC Exam unless they resign

New Delhi, Feb 08: The UPSC has introduced a key change in the Civil Services Examination rules affecting serving IAS and IFS officers.

Under the new guidelines, officers who have been appointed to these services can no longer reappear for the exam unless they resign from their current post.

This change aims to streamline the recruitment process, prevent prolonged vacancies, and ensure fair opportunities for new aspirants.

The revised rules also state that candidates who clear the prelims or mains but are appointed to IAS/IFS before the final results will be ineligible unless they resign.

While some see this as a necessary reform, others argue it restricts career mobility within civil services. More details can be uploaded from the website of UPSC.
