Jammu, Feb 06: The Jammu and Kashmir administration told the Legislative Assembly that more than 3,2000 posts across government departments remain vacant and a committee has been constituted to examine the regularisation of casual, seasonal and daily-rated workers who have served for years, the House was informed.
It said vacancies have accumulated because of retirements, promotions and routine administrative movements, and that the government is addressing the shortfall in a phased and systematic manner through statutory recruitment channels.
Appointments will be made by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board and the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, the reply added.
