CAT Jammu Bench sets record; delivers 400 judgments in 4 days

Jammu, feb 05: The Central Administrative Tribunal(CAT), Jammu Bench had delivered 400 judgments continuously in four days of this week and the Court has pronounced 100 judgments daily from Monday to Thursday, and disposed of approximately more than 450 cases in four days.

The Division Bench comprising Judicial Member, Rajinder Singh Dogra and Administrative Member, Ram Mohan Johri has disposed of all these cases with remarkable speed and precision making the rarest achievement in the country’s legal system.

In an extraordinary display of Judicial Efficiency, the Jammu Bench of CAT delivered 100 judgments in a single day providing relief to a large number of litigants in the service-related matters including regularization, compassionate appointment, seniority, promotion and recovery.

All these matters were decided independently by giving separate judgments in each case. Making record of sorts the CAT Jammu Bench by giving relief to poor litigants created this benchmark record.

Legal circles have heard the feat as the significant step towards the reducing of pendency and strengthening the confidence of the people in the justice.

In this mechanism, large scale of pronouncements of the judgments not only brought timely relief to the affected government employees but also underscored the Bench’s commitment to the efficiency and the accountability.

The efficiency of this Bench also inspires other judges to decide the cases and reduce the pendency that would grant relief to those people who are waiting for the justice since last more than 15- 20 years and this Bench has also created a benchmark earlier by disposing of highest number of cases among all the regional benches of CAT all over the country.
