Ganderbal, Feb 02: Police conducts one-day training programme on POCSO & crimes against women in Ganderbal February 02: Police in Ganderbal organized a comprehensive one-day training programme at the District Police Lines Ganderbal focusing on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and investigation of crimes against women.
The training programme was aimed at enhancing the professional skills and legal awareness of Investigating Officers dealing with sensitive cases involving women and children. The session covered key legal provisions, victim-centric investigation procedures, evidence handling, and best practices to ensure timely and effective justice delivery.
SSP Ganderbal, Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, participated in the programme and emphasized the importance of handling such cases with sensitivity, professionalism, and strict adherence to legal procedures.
He stressed that crimes against women and children require a prompt response and a compassionate approach while ensuring thorough investigation.
Expert resource persons briefed the officers on recent legal developments, procedural safeguards, and coordination with other stakeholders, including medical professionals and child welfare authorities.
