Lucknow, Jan 28: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two officials, one Accountant and an Assistant Divisional Finance Manager (ADFM) of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Northern Railway (NR), Lucknow for taking a Bribe of Rs. 70,000 from the complainant.
The CBI registered the instant case on 27.01.2026 against the accused Accountant, O/o DRM, NR, Lucknow and unknown others based on a complaint alleging that for processing of pension of complainant’s aunt, the accused Accountant demanded bribe of Rs.1,00,000 after generation of PPO and further Rs. 2,50,000 after settlement of claim amount.
The CBI laid a trap on 27.01.2026 and caught the accused Accountant and Assistant Divisional Finance Manager (ADFM) red-handed while accepting Rs.70,000 as part payment of bribe from the complainant.
Both the accused have been arrested and will be produced before the Competent Court in Lucknow. Further investigation is under way
