New Delhi, Jan 24: The Supreme Court has clarified that State ACBs and the Police can act against any officer including Central Government employees—if the offence occurs within the State’s jurisdiction.
This strengthens cooperative federalism, breaks jurisdictional shields, closes accountability loopholes, and reinforces the rule of law. The CVC must rethink its policy of non-intervention.
