Jammu, Jan 17: Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau, Shakti Pathak, today unveiled the annual Panchang published by the Shri Mall Mata Sukrala Devi Religious Trust at a ceremony.
Addressing the gathering after releasing the Panchang, Pathak highlighted its historical and scientific importance. He said the Hindu Panchang has ancient roots and is now being increasingly recognised by modern science for its accuracy in time calculation.
He described it as not just a religious document but a useful guide that helps people understand important dates, fasting days, festivals and auspicious timings, which play an important role in social and cultural life.
He congratulated the Trust for bringing out the annual Panchang and appreciated its efforts to preserve and promote India’s spiritual and cultural traditions. He also extended his best wishes to the Trust for its future activities.
The programme was attended by Trust Chairperson Tripta Shastri, Trust members Dinesh Mahajan and Raj Kumar Gupta, besides a large number of devotees and prominent personalities.
Those present included President, J&K Gau Raksha Samiti, Raj Kumar Gupta; Vice President, VHP J&K, Shakti Dutt Sharma; Rajeshwar Basotra of Billawar; and President, Vishav Brahman Kalyan Parishad, Jagdish Raj Shastri.
