Kishtwar, December 15, 2025: The Department of Agriculture, Kishtwar today organized a One-Day Youth Club Campaign-cum-Awareness Workshop with the aim of sensitizing young minds towards sustainable agricultural practices, environmental conservation, and community development.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the pivotal role of youth in fostering cleanliness, environmental protection, and the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural practices at the grassroots level.
He emphasized that empowered and informed youth can act as catalysts for positive change in rural communities.
A total of 10 Youth Clubs, with two clubs from each block—Kishtwar, Palmar, Thakrie, Nagseni, and Mughal Maidan—participated in the workshop.
During the programme, detailed deliberations were held on the roles and responsibilities of Youth Clubs, highlighting their involvement in key community-centric activities such as Conducting cleanliness drives, Organizing plantation campaigns, Supporting rejuvenation of local water bodies, Dissemination of weather advisories among farming communities. Officers from the Agriculture Department apprised the participants of various government schemes and stressed the importance of youth engagement in environmental protection and sustainable agricultural development.
The workshop concluded with an interactive session, encouraging Youth Club members to actively participate in community-based initiatives and serve as ambassadors of change in their respective areas.
The program was attended by CAO Kishtwar Sh. Kushal Chandel, Head KVK Shri Amitesh Sharma, ; District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Shri Rajeshwer Singh; Subject Matter Specialist, Vikas Koushal, DL; Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Dheeraj Singh,, Padder; and SMS, Marwah K.K. Koul, along with other officials and stakeholders.
