Jammu Sanskriti School hosts  Under-17 Inter-school Skating Competition

JAMMU, Nov 22: The campus of Jammu Sanskriti School buzzed with excitement and competitive spirit as it successfully hosted the Sahodaya Under-17 Interschool Skating Competition under the aegis of the Sahodaya School Complex.

The press statement reads “The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 12 prominent schools from the region. The ceremony was graced by Jatin Sabarwal as the Chief Guest, with Aiyza Naaz as the Guest of Honour. Jugraaj Singh and Kamal Anand were present as Special Invitees, adding to the prestige of the occasion.

The event commenced on a traditional and vibrant note with a soulful Vandana (prayer) and a colourful Welcome Song presented by the students of Jammu Sanskriti School, setting a positive and energetic tone for the day.

In her opening address, Avneet Kour Budhraja, Vice Principal of Jammu Sanskriti School, extended a warm welcome to all the participating schools, dignitaries, and guests. She emphasized the importance of sports in holistic education and praised the Sahodaya complex for its relentless efforts in fostering a platform for young talent to shine.

She stated, “Events like these are not just about winning medals, but about building character, learning sportsmanship, and forging friendships that last a lifetime. We are proud to provide a platform for these young athletes to showcase their speed, skill, and determination.” The competitive events saw young skaters displaying remarkable skill, speed, and sportsmanship across various categories, with the audience cheering them on. During the felicitation ceremony, the Chief Guest, Jatin Sabarwal, addressed the gathering. He commended the exceptional talent and discipline displayed by all the participants. In his words of encouragement, he said, “It is truly inspiring to see such young athletes exhibiting such passion and prowess in skating.

Your dedication and hard work are evident in every stride you take on the rink. Remember, champions are not made on the track alone but through perseverance and a never-give-up attitude. My heartiest congratulations to all the winners and participants.” The competition witnessed exhilarating races across multiple categories for both boys and girls. In the Inline 300 m and 500 m Under-17 Girls events, Kamakshi Sharma of Srijan International School dominated by securing first position in both races, followed by Rabani of Jodhamal Public School in second place and Pihu from Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu in third. In the Quads 300 m and 500 m Girls events, Sumanya Saini of Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu clinched the first position, while Akshita Sharma from Jodhamal Public School and Enaya of IDPS Jammu secured second and third positions respectively in both categories. In the boys’ category, Svanik Mansotra of KC International secured the first position in the Inline 300 m Under-17 Boys, followed by Parik Chandel of JKPS Kathua and Manas Verma from Cambridge International School. The Inline 500 m Boys title was won by Dharun Sharma of KC International, with Parik Chandel JKPS Kathua again taking second place and Manayavar Mahajan of Jodhamal Public School securing third.

In the Quads 300 m Boys race, Neelesh from JKPS Jammu emerged victorious, followed by Sushant Choudhary of JKPS Kathua and Laksh Kumar from Srijan International School. The Quads 500 m Boys event saw Laksh Kumar claim first place, Sushant Choudhary JKPS Kathua second, and Shoray from JKPS Jammu in third. The prize distribution ceremony was a momenT of great pride as winners were awarded medals and certificates for their outstanding performances. The event concluded on a harmonious note with a heartfelt Thank You Song, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the resounding success of the competition. The management of Jammu Sanskriti School and the Sahodaya Complex expressed their sincere thanks to the chief guest, guests of honour, special invitees, participating schools, parents, and volunteers for their unwavering support.”
