J&K: Govt starts sealing unauthorized Private Health Care Facilities

Poonch, Nov 17: As per the order of Divisional pollution control committee District Poonch and duly endorsed by Chief Medical Officer Poonch under the supervision of Sub Divisional Megistrate Surankote, a joint team with the presence of Ist Class Megistrate Health Department and coordination with SHO Surankote today initiated a sealing drive against 11 unauthorized Private Health Care Facilities operating in Block Surankote.

The action follows a recent inspection conducted by the Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Committee, District Poonch.

The inspection report revealed that several clinical laboratories and health care facilities were functioning without mandatory authorization from the J&K Pollution Control Committee and were not adhering to the provisions of the Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.

The Sub-Divisional Administration has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public health and maintaining regulatory standards across all health care establishments in the region.

Authorities have further advised all private health care operators to obtain requisite permissions and maintain compliance with established norms to avoid punitive action.
