J&K Tourism showcases Culture, Cuisine and Countryside at Bharat Parv, 2025 in Gujarat

Ahmadabad, Nov 05: J&K Tourism participated in the ongoing Bharat Parv in Ekta Nagar Gujarat as part of the nationwide celebrations of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The event, organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, showcases India’s unity in diversity through a vibrant convergence of culture, cuisine, crafts, and thematic exhibits from all States and Union Territories.

Aijaz Qaiser, JKAS, Joint Director Tourism, Jammu (Nodal Officer for the event) , Kulbushan Khajuria, JKAS, CEO, Tourism Development Authority, Rajouri, Liaqat Mehmood, Accounts Officer, Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir , and Altaf Hussain Bhat , JKAS GM JKTDC Kashmir represented the union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir at the Bharat parv event.

A live/ Studio kitchen was set up by JKTDC to give visitors fresh and first hand feel of the authentic and exquisite cuisines of jammu & Kashmir.

The event celebrated India’s unity in diversity, with J&K Tourism showcasing the Union Territory’s rich tourism potential, vibrant art, craft, and authentic cuisine. The department’s pavilion drew large crowds of visitors eager to explore Jammu and Kashmir’s breathtaking destinations, adventure offerings, and traditional culture.

The fortnight-long event inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought together diverse states and Union Territories to celebrate India’s cultural mosaic under the theme of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

The celebrations marked the grand observance of National Unity Day at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that every year, a ceremonial parade modeled on the Republic Day parade will be held on October 31 at Ekta Nagar, symbolizing the nation’s enduring unity and strength.

Speaking on the occasion, Aijaz Qaiser, Joint Director Tourism Jammu said j&K's participation at Bharat Parv is an opportunity to highlight our cultural depth and sustainable tourism efforts.

Our focus is on showcasing the evolving tourism identity, one that blends heritage, ecology, and community engagement in alignment with the ethos of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

It also reflects the department’s sustained efforts to promote the Union Territory as a year-round destination while strengthening the message of unity in diversity.

He added that such national events provide an excellent opportunity to highlight the region’s unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural heritage.

Such initiatives underscore the department’s commitment to promote Jammu and Kashmir on national platforms, fostering cultural exchange, and strengthening tourism-led national integration.

The J&K Tourism Pavilion also featured live demonstrations of traditional performances by Department of Culture , and displays of Kashmiri and Dogra cuisines, symbolizing the spirit of harmony and inclusivity that defines National Unity Day.

Such events spotlight the State’s vibrant culture, distinctive cuisine, traditional crafts, and ongoing initiatives promoting round the year Tourism.
