Jammu & Srinagar Smart City projects  utilizes more than Rs 1,638 crore

Srinagar, Oct 31: The Jammu and Kashmir government has said that both the Jammu and Srinagar Smart City projects together have utilised more than Rs 1,638 crore on various development works, with 200 projects completed and 11 still under execution.

The figures were shared in the Legislative Assembly in response to starred questions (No. 160 and No. 399) tabled by Sham Lal Sharma and Vikram Randhawa.

According to the government’s reply, the Jammu Smart City Limited has taken up 70 projects under the Smart City Mission, of which 66 have been completed and four remain under execution.

The Srinagar Smart City Limited has taken up 141 projects, completing 134 while seven are still underway. 

The government said that Rs 850 crore have been released and utilized under Jammu Smart City, while Rs 788.89 crore have been spent in Srinagar under the Mission.

It added that physical and financial progress is being monitored closely to ensure timely completion. T
