Handwara, Oct 30: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that his focus is on empowering youth and creating employment opportunities. He assured that Handwara will be granted district status once Jammu and Kashmir regains statehood.
Omar said the people of the region have long deserved district status. You did not ask for a Rajya Sabha member; the NC gave a mandate to Choudary Mohammad Ramzan. When you say Handwara deserves to be a district, I completely agree. It should be given. Inshallah, without asking, you will get this status,” he said.
