 DC Kishtwar flags off exposure visit, distributes tool kits to trainees under R&R plan

KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 9: In an initiative to promote skill development and self-employment opportunities, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today flagged off an exposure visit-cum-tool kit distribution program for trainees of Cutting & Tailoring and Crewel Embroidery Training Centers under the R&R Plan of the Hydro Electric Power Projects in the District.

A total of 60 trainees from two Cutting & Tailoring Centers at Bagna and one Crewel Embroidery Training Center at Padhyarna participated in the program, receiving tool kits to enhance their training and entrepreneurial prospects.

The trainees visited the Cutting & Tailoring and Fashion Designing Unit at ITI Kishtwar, boutiques in Kishtwar and Chinar Crewel Works Handicrafts Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd. Pohiee.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner underlined the importance of practical exposure and skill-based training in empowering youth towards self-reliance.

He stressed that such visits not only familiarize trainees with modern industry trends, production processes and timelines but also play a crucial role in confidence-building and motivation for self-employment generation.

The DC further directed instructors to provide hands-on, quality training and ensure doorstep delivery of tool kits, enabling participants to translate their skills into income-generating ventures.

Earlier, the Assistant Director, Handloom & Handicrafts Kishtwar Pardeep Shan briefed the trainees about the training module, post-training opportunities and government schemes aimed at supporting artisans and entrepreneurs.
