SRINAGAR, Oct 5: Following allegations that expired Dextrose Normal Saline (DNS) was administered to a patient at District Hospital Pulwama, which can be otherwise treated as "ATTEMPT TO MURDER" the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir assured strict action against those found negligent.
DHSK has taken serious cognisance of a viral video on social media claiming that expired DNS was given to a patient at the hospital. An immediate, thorough, and time-bound inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the facts and identify those responsible.
The Directorate emphasized that the investigation will be carried out in a fair, transparent, and time-bound manner, strictly in accordance with established procedures and legal frameworks.
It is to mention here that it cannot be issue in one hospital, there is need to act in all hospitals in one go to check the supplys, of DNS & other injections & medicines etc etc to know the facts of Date of Expiry, which may detect other such like issues?
It is to mention here that earlier, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Basharat Qayoom had ordered an inquiry following the circulation of the video alleging the use of expired DNS at the hospital.
