Kishtwar, 16-09-2025 Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), today reviewed the Local Area Development Plan (LADP) under the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Plan of Hydroelectric Power Projects (HEPPs) in District Kishtwar.
The meeting focused on reviewing the physical and financial progress of local area development activities, as well as the social and community development packages of HEPPs under the R&R Plan.
The review covered four major projects: Kiru HEPP, Pakal Dul HEPP, Ratle HEPP, and Kwar HEPP. The DC reviewed each component in detail, assessing the implementation status of individual works under the LADP of the R&R Plan.
While expressing displeasure over some of the works, the DC directed the concerned Heads of Departments (HODs) to expedite execution and ensure timely completion in a time-bound manner.
The DC also directed to sought explanations from these officers regarding unjustified delays and the lack of progress in certain key developmental works, stressing the need for accountability and proactive monitoring at all levels.
The DC directed the Jal Shakti Department, Kishtwar, to submit estimates for the proposal of eight new water tankers (five large and three small) to address the water scarcity problem in the town and its peripheral areas.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of adhering to guidelines and completing the works within the stipulated timelines, highlighting that these projects are intended for the welfare of the general public, particularly the Project Affected Families (PAFs).
The Meeting was attended by CAO Kishtwar Kushal Chandel, CEO Kishtwar Sanjay Dogra, CHO Kishtwar Sajid Mustafa, ExEn PWD Kishtwar Ravinder Verma, ExEn JPDCL Kishtwar Latif Wani, AD Planning RDD Kishtwar, BDO Nagseni besides other Senior Officers.
