Ramban, August 23: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, the Drug Control Officer Ramban today conducted an inspection drive in the Sangaldan area to ensure strict compliance with regulatory norms governing medical shops and establishments.
The inspection focused on verifying the functionality of CCTV cameras, computerized billing systems, and registration status of chemist shops, besides checking that psychotropic drugs are not misused and are dispensed strictly against valid medical prescriptions.
During the inspection, records of sales and the availability of medicines were scrutinized. The Drug Control Officer also checked CCTV footage from several establishments to ensure adherence to prescribed norms and prevent any irregularities in the sale of prescription drugs.
Medical shop owners were sensitized about the importance of strict compliance with guidelines, transparency in operations, and digital record-keeping of sales and purchases for effective monitoring of medicine supply chains.
The Officer further issued strict instructions that any violation of the provisions of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act will invite stern action.
