CAT directs Secretary, H&ME to hold an enquiry on wrong affidavits filed by candidates for educational qualifications

Jammu, Aug 04: In C.P./84/2024 (JAMMU) In O.A./117/ titled CHANDAN KUMAR Vs SERVICE SELECTION BOARD after hearin CAT ordered as under;-

While arguing the present case, learned counsel for the applicant pointed out that the advertisement notification for the post of Gas Pipeline Operator prescribes the minimum qualification as Matric and the maximum qualification as 10+2.

However, it was pointed out that two candidates, namely Mushtaq Ahmad Reshi and Rafi Ahmed Shah, who possess graduate degrees, were selected for the said post. This raises a serious concern regarding the veracity of the affidavits submitted by these candidates.

In light of the above, the Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department is directed to hold an enquiry into the matter to ascertain whether the said candidates have filed wrong affidavits with regard to their educational qualifications.

If it is found that they have indeed filed wrong affidavits then, no appointment order shall be issued in their favour and F.I.R. shall be lodged against them for filing wrong affidavit.

The Secretary is further directed to submit a compliance report before this Court on or before the next date of hearing. List on 28.08.2025
