BUDGAM, Aug 6: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting here at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the status of implementation of Mission YUVA.
As per data presented by DE&CC Budgam, a total of 1501 applications have been submitted till date, applications pending with SBDUs are 1115, applications verified by SBDUs are 386, and applications approved earlier by DLIC were 206.
Out of 206 approved applications, applications sanctioned by Banks are 61, and applications disbursed by Banks are 13 till date. In addition, 179 new cases were also discussed and all 179 cases were approved by the DLIC during the meeting.
Also, the chair was apprised that as per baseline survey data, total households surveyed were 1,35,314, out of which Potential Entrepreneur Youth Registered (PEUR) stand at 4,952 and Total Potential Entrepreneurs Identified are 31,378 in the district.
At the outset, DC set clear field-level targets and reinforced a monitoring mechanism to boost performance under Mission YUVA. He said that each Yuvadoot must ensure submission of at least one application per day.
ACR and SDMs were directed to monitor the performance of Yuvadoots within their jurisdictions and submit weekly progress reports to the DC office.
DC further directed Business Help Desks at the Sub-Divisional Level to upload DPRs after proper verification to ensure timely registration and processing. He called for weekly review meetings of Yuvadoots which need to be held to address challenges and track on-going progress.
Dr Bilal said that Mission YUVA isn’t just a scheme, but a catalyst for grassroots transformation. He said by empowering youth with opportunities, guidance, and institutional support, the mission aims to build a self-reliant and economically strong Budgam.
He emphasised that with effective interdepartmental coordination, the full potential of young entrepreneurs can be unlocked, bringing meaningful change to every household.
He stressed the need for collective, coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to realise the vision of youth empowerment through self-employment and entrepreneurship across district Budgam.
