DODA, JULY 23: Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) for Mission YUVA- a transformative initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Government to foster entrepreneurship at grassroots level.
During the deliberations, the Committee scrutinized and approved 157 new cases were, thereby catapulting the total number of approved cases to 398 — a significant milestone reflecting the district’s proactive engagement in youth empowerment through sustainable self-employment.
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that Mission YUVA stands as a transformative initiative, designed not merely to foster entrepreneurship but also to channel the untapped potential of the District's youth into viable, productive avenues of livelihood.
He reiterated the District administration shall continue to extend unwavering support in the form of capacity building, mentorship, hand holding assistance, and structured follow-ups to ensure seamless implementation and long-term viability of the approved projects.
Deputy Director Employment Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, while briefing the meeting, said that the youth of the district have responded with great enthusiasm to Mission YUVA, viewing it as a beacon of hope in an economy primarily dependent on agriculture and the service sector. He acknowledged that with the strategic implementation of Mission YUVA, a constellation of opportunities has emerged for the unemployed populace, significantly altering the employment dynamics of the District.
He further assured the chair that the officials of the Employment Department are endeavouring to prepare viable Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and provide continuous assistance to the aspiring entrepreneurs.
The meeting concluded on a resolute note, with all stakeholders collectively pledging to uphold the vision of Mission YUVA and to persist in their efforts to cultivate a self-reliant, industrious, and entrepreneurially vibrant youth demographic in District Doda.
