Committee on Public Undertakings reviews Audit Paras Of JKPCC, raises various issues regarding works executed

SRINAGAR, July 22: The Committee on Public Undertakings of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today convened a meeting at Assembly Complex here, to review audit paras contained in CAG’s Audit report pertaining to the J&K Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Limited.

Principal Accountant General, Principal Secretary PWD(R&B), Director General Expenditure, Director General Accounts and Treasuries, Director Finance PWD(R&B), Chief Engineer PWD(R&B), senior officers of JKPCC and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.

The Committee held detailed deliberations on Audit Paras 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 contained in the CAG’s Audit report for the year 2018-19.

Chairman underlined the importance of proactive participation of all members in strengthening the operations and efficiency of Public Sector Undertakings. He directed the officers of PWD to take concrete steps for completion of all ongoing projects.

He also stressed on the importance of audit and evaluation of PSU’s to ensure transparency and accountability in their operations.

The Members, during the meeting, also raised various issues regarding the works executed by JKPCC in their respective constituencies.

The meeting was chaired by Committee Chairman Ali Mohammad Sagar and attended by members Saifullah Mir, Ali Mohammad Dar, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, Shakti Raj Parihar, Ranbir Singh Pathania, Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Saif Ud Din Bhat and Tanvir Sadiq.
