Lakhanpur, July 21:A rousing reception was accorded to the Congress Caravan for Delhi Chalo at Lakhanpur today evening by large number of Congress leaders and workers led by Ch Lal Singh and DCC President Kathua ,Ex MLA Kanta Andotra & ors. As the caravan of buses carrying PCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra , G A Mir ,Raman Bhalla, Shah Nawaz Chaudhary, Ravinder Sharma & ors reached here ,a large number of workers took into a rally to Maharaja Gulab Singh statue ,raising slogans in favour of statehood.
The leaders offered flowers to Maharaja statue and pledged to fight for restoration of statehood. Later they moved to Madhopur where the leaders of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee received them & fully supported their demand.
