JAMMU, July 21: Around 12 kanal of Government land in Khasra No. 119, Sidhra, Tehsil Jammu Khas was retrieved by Jammu Development Authority during an anti-encroachment drive conducted today.
The drive was conducted by JDA under the firm direction of the Vice Chairman, Rupesh Kumar in close coordination with the District Administration and law enforcement agencies, resulting in the successful retrieval of 12 kanal of prime JDA land.
As part of the operation, seven unauthorized structures were demolished. These structures had been raised illegally, violating land use regulations and causing obstruction in the planned development of the area.
This action forms part of JDA’s ongoing efforts to reclaim encroached public land and ensure adherence to legal land use and development norms.
The JDA has reiterated its commitment to continue such drives in the future, warning encroachers against illegal occupation of Government land.
But, VC has to see, if it was JDA Land, whether it was fenced, if yes, how illegal constructions took place, if not fenced and seek details of unfenced JDA lands from Revenue Wing of JDA & if yet big chunk of lands not fenced yet needed to be acted upon otherwise it is a proved case of allowing encroachers to encroach JDA lands & thereafter if come in notice, demolitions & litigations....?
However, 6o Kanal of open prime land of JDA , which is in notice of one Tehsildar of JDA, who is effective in playing delay tactics in genuine works & over ruling higher officers directions , not acting on some part of land which has been encroached but still not fenced & super powered Tehsildar is enjoying the picture, raised a pointer towards her/his integrity working needed to be acted upon.
However, an application under RTI has been filed on 2nd of July 2025 for seeking unfenced lands of JDA, which will speak the truth of the story, how revenue Wing of JDA is keen to save their lands from encroachers & their work culture can be noticed from issuance of NOCs of Building Permission cases in time or sleeping on NOCs.
