Pune, July 12: The Anti-Corruption Bureau has booked two officials from the Sub-Registrar’s Office in Dapodi for accepting a bribe of Rs 3,700 in exchange for issuing a bylaw booklet after the registration of a housing society.

A case has been registered against them at the Dapodi police station. The complaint was filed by a 33-year-old resident of a housing society in Pimpri-Chinchwad. According to the ACB, the complainant and other members of their housing society submitted a registration proposal to the Dapodi Sub-Registrar Office on March 25.

During the process, the accused officials allegedly demanded Rs 700 per member as a bribe, totaling Rs 11,200 for 16 members. Of this, Rs 7,500 was paid in advance, after which the society registration and certificate were issued.
