Bhopal, July 6: A scam of Rs 1000 crore has been alleged in the Jal Jeevan Mission in Madhya Pradesh, which is connected to the Public Health Engineering Department.
Notices has been sent to over 250 Engineers & at the same time, the department is now preparing to send notices to more than 250 Sub-Engineers and Assistant Engineers. Some engineers have already received these notices.
This has led to anger among the Engineers & Engineers warn of protests & Diploma Engineers Association has said that if the notices are not withdrawn, they will hold a meeting on July 15 and begin protests.
they while expressing strong opposition to the move & added that from preparing the DPR to giving approval and making payments, the work is done by the department's Executive Engineer and Superintending Engineer. While the notice is being given to Sub-Engineer and Assistant Engineer, which will not be tolerated.
It has been told to the government that by issuing show cause notices to Sub-Engineers and Assistant Engineers, there is an attempt to protect the officers who gave technical approval for the project. This situation is different from the provisions mentioned in the Works Department Manual.
The government has been asked to issue orders to take action against officials who give technical approval to schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
A state-level work stoppage movement related to Jal Jeevan Mission and drinking water will be conducted regarding allegations of protecting senior officials responsible by only issuing notices to sub-engineers and assistant engineers.
